2Want a US LLC that stays tax-free in the US?

Then our sister site zerotax.llc is the place for you. It covers the LLC for owners who live outside the US and do no business in the US: no permanent establishment, no US tax on the profit. This page is about the opposite: companies that really operate in the US, have a permanent establishment there and pay US taxes. Behind both is the same firm in Austin, Mount Bonnell Advisors.

3US tax returns for corporations

Corporations such as the C Corporation must also file a US tax return. Both active US corporations and non-resident corporations are required to prepare annual financial statements and file corporate income tax returns. The same applies to inactive US corporations and non-resident companies with no US activity: they too must file zero returns and simplified balance sheets.

4US tax returns for partnerships

Partnerships, such as limited partnerships or multi-member LLCs, are also required to file a US tax return. This applies to active US partnerships and non-resident partnerships alike. Inactive US partnerships and non-resident businesses with no US activity must also file annual zero partnership returns with the IRS.
